Hopefully, you have been checking out the ingredients lists that I include in each product review.  I am regularly investigating ingredients, learning about their pros and cons and posting my findings in The Kitchen.

I have been using some of these products for YEARS and it's kind of like a break-up.  I'm finally learning the truth about these products that I have sworn by for sooo many years. Ow, it hurts!  I love these products, but I love me more. LOL!  I selected three products that I just had to let go and here they are:

Vaseline Body Oil Gel

Vaseline Cocoa Butter Vitalizing Body Oil Gel

Vaseline - it so many uses!!  A tried and true remedy for so many things.  I had to let this go because the very first ingredient - mineral oil.  Man oh man, do we go way back.  I mean before the sexy body oil came out, we just had the Vaseline in the jar.  I always kept a little one in my purse for my lips.  Whoooooo!  This one is hard to let go of, but under the sink it goes!

Aveeno Skin Brightening Daily Scrub

Aveeno Skin Brightening Daily Scrub

Now, I have been a fan of this product for a few years and now that I am reaching new levels of consciousness regarding what I put onto (and eventually into) my body; it had to go.  The first two ingredients are lovely, but the third is a no-no!  Sodium laureth sulfate or SLES is a milder version of SLS.  Many natural products opt to use SLES instead of SLS because it is derives from coconut oilRead more about the misleading SLES in the kitchen.

Keri Lotion Original Formula

Keri Lotion - Original Formula

And finally, Keri lotion.  We go wayyyyyy back.  I'm talking middle school gym class, yall.  Oh, it broke my hear to have to let it go.  Whew!  This was a tough one.  The culprit in this product - mineral oil yet again.  Keri was even packed with parabens!  She's outta here, yall!

So there you have it, three of my favorite products have been placed 'under the sink'.  I used to love them, but I love me more.  Remember, the skin is the largest organ of the body.  Be careful of what you feed it.

These products will no longer be displayed as Featured Products.  They will remain under the sink.  Be sure to visit us in the kitchen to learn more about these ingredients - good and bad.  Read your labels, stay informed and most of all....love YOU!

Review: Sally Hansen Salon Effects Nail Polish Strips

Some time ago, Angel shared the Sally Hansen Salon Effects Nail Strips.  Well, I just had to try them!  While perusing the clearance section of my local Ulta store, I noticed that they had the strips on sale for half price!  I love a sale!

Needless to say, I snagged these babies and tucked them away for a quiet day.  The quiet day arose on Mother's Day.  Not only did I get to sleep in and receive breakfast in bed, I also had the opportunity to do some 'girly' stuff.  Yessss!!!!  Thanks to my guys!!!!  Love you!

Okay, so back to the nails...

Ease of use

I loved how easy it was to apply the nail strips.  The small box comes with a set of instructions telling you exactly what to do and how to do it.  I love that.  I am no nail pro, folks - not even a little bit!  We have Angel Williams for that!
