Cricket Stylist Carbon Comb

Cricket Stylist Carbon CombI was recently perusing through CosmoProf after picking up some supplies before servicing a client and stumbled upon these combs.  I must tell you that I am somewhat of an around-the-way stylist so spending money on a special comb just doesn't get me excited.  Normally, I would visit Sally's, grab those boxes of combs (rattail and cutting) and call it a day.  In my book, if you know what you're doing - you can make it work with whatever you have.

Well, my mind is changing folks.  I often advise my students to work smarter; not harder and am beginning to realize how much I need to follow my own advice.  As it turns out, some pretty smart people have developed tools designed specifically for stylists enabling us to work smarter.  Of course, for a nominal fee....

The Cricket Stylist Carbon Comb is unlike your normal comb.  It is composed of carbon, which means it is static free!  These combs are great for hair-cutting - no more fly-aways!  I actually used one on a client last week and I was very pleased with the end result.  The feel and grip of the comb (not to mention the decrease in section re-combs due to fly-aways) make for a wonderful styling/cutting experience.

I actually showcased this comb to one of my students and she could immediately feel the difference. Needless to say, I think I'm on the verge of becoming a tool snob.  Watch out world!

Canola oil

Not too long ago, I reviewed African Royale Hot Six Oil.  As always, I pay attention to the ingredient list and this time I saw canola oil.  I had been experiencing some skin issues and this oil seemed to calm it all down.  This experience caused me to ponder the ingredients. The top five ingredients were - olive oil, canola oil, wheat germ oil, sweet almond oil and safflower oil respectively.

Having researched and heard of the benefits of some of the others, I was curious about canola oil.  I cook with it from time to time, have read some conflicting opinions about it in the past and now I'm finding it as the second ingredient in a product that seemed to work well for me. So, let's break this down!
