So, I'm walking through Marshall's and guess what I'm drawn to? Yeah, the random beauty items that they have marked down. I snagged this new flat iron for about thirty bucks! Now, I already own plenty of flat irons, but I just had to try the BaByliss Pro! Why? Well, allow me to give you a little history...
I own a nice little Chi iron and I love it. It always gives me (and my clients) great results. My only beef with the Chi iron is that there is no temperature control. After witnessing the results of the Chi flat iron, some actually splurge and go purchase one. Well, an iron of that caliber delivering that kind of heat can be dangerous in untrained hands. I have heard of a few horror stories. Now, this is no fault of the Chi iron itself. Things like this happen when folks get overly excited about the final look you get from the Chi. For some reason it becomes okay to flat iron your hair with 400-degree heat every day - NO! I will have you know that I have found that there are some Chi irons coming out with digital temperature control...wowee I can't wait to get one!
Alright, alright...this review is about the BabyBliss Pro, though. So, let me tell you about this flat iron. It's great!

With curly-kinky hair like mine, it is important to make sure my iron does not go above 375 degrees. I actually love my kinks, so any heat higher than than can alter my natural pattern. Have you ever gotten your hair straightened and seen some random straight pieces that won't 'go back'? If so, this is a result of heat that is too high. Just remember 375. With the BabyBliss Pro, I was able to ensure my iron did not get to hot. There is a temperature guage. In addition, there is a chart in the instruction booklet that guides you to the proper temperature based on hair type.
| Temperature Settings | Hair Type |
| 1 - 5 --> 220 - 264°F | Fragile, very fine hair |
| 6 - 10 --> 265 - 304°F | Thin, easy-to-straighten hair |
| 11 - 15 --> 305 - 354°F | Normal textured hair |
| 16 - 20 --> 355 - 389°F | Wavy or curly hair |
| 21 - 25 --> 390 - 450°F | Course, very thick hair |
Now, I was very pleased to see this chart because the magic number 375°F fits right into my hair type. The flat iron has an excellent grip, works well and glides nicely through your tresses. I actually recorded my process. Video coming soon!! Enjoy because I only flat iron my hair once or twice per year. I may be able to try a few tools on my clients though. In the meantime, check out the before and after:

I will warn you that the retail value for this iron is around $100, so be sure to stalk your local discount/markdown stores for great deals. Maybe you can catch a sale like I did. If you can...BabyBliss Pro...get you one!
