The After Affects: Cucumber Facial Kit

E-mail Print PDF

I love the way things work!! So, I was noticing some changes in my skin and decided that it was about time for a facial.  Would I go to the spa?  Absolutely not because...well, it's just not feasible at the moment.

Moments after the thought, I saw a post in my timeline from our own C. Dawn Farrow regarding a new cucumber facial kit.  I clicked the link and was pleasantly surprised to see that the facial kit was available for the low cost of $10.00!!!

After confirming that there was in fact no shea butter (allergy) in the formula, I made my purchase.

Step 1: Clean your face

The instructions are to use the kit after cleaning your face.  I opted to cleanse my face with the Trader Joe's soap.

Step 2: Aloe Face polish

One thing I love about products from The After Affects is that a little goes a long way.  I used approximately one teaspoon (or less) for my facial.  The instructions were to apply this face polish to a damp face and work it in circular motions.

Oh, my freaking goodness!  The polish feels really good!  There are little jojoba beads that are gently exfoliating your skin as well as some excellent moisturizers.  Your face will appear pretty greasy, as you're rubbing in the polish.  But, what do you expect with a face polish?  Shine on!

After the circular motions, the polish can be removed with a damp cloth.

Ingredients: Aloe vera butter, ribes nigrum (black current) oil, mango butter oryza satova (rice) bran oil, oenothera biennis (evening primrose), vitis vingera (grapeseed oil), tocopherol (vitamin E), zea mays (corn) starch, jojoba oil beads, essential oil, phenoxyethanol and caprylyl glycol (optiphen)

Step 3: Cucumber Facial Toner

I am a huge fan of these little facial toners.  Spritzing my face, makes me feel pretty.  This particular toner made me feel pretty and made my skin feel refreshed.  After the solution dried, I could not stop touching my face ever so gently to take note of the softness.

Ingredients: Organic aloe leaf juice, Cucumber Distillate, Witch Hazel Distillate, Black Willow bark extract, Polysorbate, Citric Acid, Tea tree essential oil, phenoxyethanol

Overall, this is an excellent facial kit and I will definitely use this until it is all gone!  I'm always nervous about putting new things on my face, but no worries with this facial kit.  Since using it, my skin has been described as radiant and glowing. Pow, baybeeeeeeee!!!  Yeah, it works.

Curls: Milkshake Light Curl Styling Lotion

Curls MilkshakeSo, I check my good mailbox and guess what?!?!  I have a sample of this goodness - Curls Milkshake Light Curl Styling Lotion!  When it comes to styling lotions and milks I have to be extremely careful because I, unlike the majority of folks, have a tree nut allergy.  So yes, high concentrations of shea will not work for me.  Oh how I would love to use the products that contain shea butter - I just can't.  Anywhoo, I'm reading the attached brochure to find that the milk is that of the wonderful coconut!  Yes, the fruit that grows closest to the sun.
