Burt's Bees: Extra Energizing Citrus & Ginger Root Body Bar

E-mail Print PDF

Now, this was a pleasant treat.  When I can't make it to Trader Joe's for my usual goodness, I hop on over to my local grocer and check out the natural section.  On this particular day I stumbled upon this body bar.

Fragrance

Lovely! Citrus has a reputation of heightening one's mood.  This is a great treat in the morning.

Functionality

This body bar feels really nice.  It leaves your skin smooth and soft to the touch.  The scent does the job of heightening your mood in a subtle and sweet way.  The addition of ginger balances the citrus scent that can oftentimes be a bit overpowering by itself.

Packaging

Always impressed by companies that work hard to save the planet, I noticed that this body bar was packaged in TerraSkin™.  Here is what was printed on the wrapper:

"This wrapper is made from TerraSkin™, a paper made of minerals and produced without the use of toxic bleaching chemicals, so it will degrade back into its source; the powder of stone.  Please discard normally; do not recycle with regular paper."

This was very cool!  I don't know about you, but saving the planet makes me feel great!

Investment: $4.99

Ingredients: vegetable soap base, kaolin, zingiber officinale (ginger) root oil, citrus grandis (grapefruit) peel oil, citrus aurantium dulcis (orange) oil, citrus aurantifolia (lime) oil, citrus auranthium bergamia (bergamot) fruit oil, citrus nobillis (mandarin orange) oil, fragrance

Satin Blends: Vegan Lip Balm

Now, I know we all like to keep that lip gloss poppin'!  Moist and supple lips are always good, right?  So, you've tried chapstick, been hooked on Carmex and possibly purchased some great new lip balm at the store huh?  Have you tried this, though?

The more and more I get to know these woman-owned product lines, the happier I become.  A sister is making lip balm, yall!  How sweet is that?!?!

Fragrance

I have the peppermint fragrance and to no surprise, it smells just like peppermint.  I was even asked for some gum because I had this goodness on my lips.  My response, "No, that's my peppermint vegan lip balm, dahhhling!"
