BoBeam Shampoo Bar: Rootz Herbal Hair Grower

E-mail Print PDF

Rootz Herbal Hair GrowerI met up with this natural hair obsess-or via the Nappturalite Radio Show.  I'm telling you the chat room is the place to be during the live show.  Through that virtual space, I discovered that she makes her very own shampoo bars and other natural hair/body products and sells them through her Esty shop.  You know how we love to love on entrepreneurs.  Well, Laquita was kind enough to send me a sampler package of her goods.  The first item up for review is the Rootz Herbal Hair Grower.

Fragrance

I will say that my opinion of the scent may have been tainted by first reading the ingredients list.  You see, the very first ingredient is Hemp.  I expected the shampoo bar to be somewhat reminiscent of a Bob Marley concert. LOL!  To my delightful surprise, the shampoo bar possessed a citrus-like scent with hemp undertones.  Not bad!

Functionality

You all know that I am not a shampoo-er.  I prefer to co-wash.  The BoBeam Rootz Herbal Hair grower contains no SLS or SLES, so I was okay with giving it a try.  It had been awhile since I saw suds coming from my tresses.  Having no idea what to expect, I followed the instructions and experienced a massive amount of suds.  Needless to say, my hair was clean - squeaky clean.  I did not like that part.

What I did like about the shampoo bar on my tresses was the fact that it left my hair feeling light and fluffy.  This was after trying it for the third time.  Interesting story...I thought the shampoo bar dried my hair out.  I even notified Laquita of this. Come to find out, it wasn't the shampoo bar; it was my wild sleeping, yall.  Your girl was sleeping on the wrong pillow.  After wearing my satin bonnet, securing it just right and tossing those non-friendly pillows to the side I experienced great results.

This will be a product I would consider if I had excessive product build-up (clarifying option).  This is definitely not an item to add to my weekly regimen.  I just can't get with the balloon effect of shampoo anymore.

Another great fact about this shampoo bar is that you can use it on your body as well.  And this thing left my skin feeling *in my Zohan voice* Silky Smooth.

Packaging

BoBeam uses suitable packaging that is just right for the products.  Ingredients are clearly displayed on each item.

Investment: Shop BoBeam on Esty!

Ingredients: Saponified Vegetable oils mainly Coconut Oil, Glycerine (kosher, of vegetable origin), Honey, Purified Water, Sorbitol (berries, moisturizer), Sorbitan oleate (emulsifier), Soybean protein (conditioner)

Thanks All Tressed Up for reviewing my shampoo bar. Lol at the Bob Marley concert - I thought the same thing when I was researching hemp. I agree with using the bar as a clarifying poo, especially for other co-washers :-)

Thanks again
Laquita

Poetisa's Palette: Mocha Latte Foaming Coffee Scrub

Scent

I love it!  I will admit that I was afraid at first.  The last thing I want to do is walk around smelling like a coffee bean! Not so much.  The scrub has a light yet decadent fragrance.

Canola oil

Not too long ago, I reviewed African Royale Hot Six Oil.  As always, I pay attention to the ingredient list and this time I saw canola oil.  I had been experiencing some skin issues and this oil seemed to calm it all down.  This experience caused me to ponder the ingredients. The top five ingredients were - olive oil, canola oil, wheat germ oil, sweet almond oil and safflower oil respectively.

Having researched and heard of the benefits of some of the others, I was curious about canola oil.  I cook with it from time to time, have read some conflicting opinions about it in the past and now I'm finding it as the second ingredient in a product that seemed to work well for me. So, let's break this down!
