Black women and their hair - it is such a serious matter. We learned in Hair Story, just how deeply rooted our hair is (pun intended). Hair told stories about tribal affiliations, marital status and in some cases our life events.
Authors Michael Cunningham and George Alexander do an excellent job of taking us on a journey meeting a variety of black women and learning more about what their hair means to them. The use of black and white photography throughout gives the book a nostalgic feel. Many of the interviews and comments will touch your heart. The cover photo alone puts a smile on my face!
Styles showcased in this book range from locs to the masterpieces you may see featured in extravagent hair shows. This concept alone, is a reminder that we are all Queens. Hairstyle is a personal choice. While we all have our preferences, your royalty comes from within.
If you are interested in a bit of easy reading that has the ability to put a smile on your face, provoke thought and wonder and engage you with impeccable photography try this book. This is definitely salon or coffee table material.












Okay, I've been holding back on yall! I have a shelf full of empty bottles that are awaiting a lovely review. This one right here is something special! I guess you can say that I was blessed to have minimal skin issues and so I've never really had a skin care regimen. However, now that I am getting
