Well, it has been three weeks and one day since I twisted my hair and made the decision to officially transition to locs. I wanted to provide you with an update of my progress.
Growth
Let me just tell you that this stuff is growing like crazy! It's only been three weeks and check out all this new growth! I've been paying more attention to my water intake and even did a walk/jog of over four miles (one time...lol!). Regarding diet, I have paid more attention to what I have been eating and try to attempt a new dish each week whenever possible.
Locking
As expected, I have some tangles going on and I was prepared for that. I acknowledge that my nape (as with many of my clients) may take the longest to lock. I plan to twist my new growth some time between now and next week. If I'm not mistaken, I think I feel a bit of budding on a few of my twists, but that could simply be my anxious mind. Let me slow my roll!!!
Overall, I'm loving my hair! it is shrinking quite a bit and the fuzz factor is on 1,000, but I love wild hair anyway. This is literally shake-and-go hair! I'm excited to see what it looks like after my first twisting!!! Whooooooo!!!!
Maintenance
I'm on a two-week washing schedule. I massage my scalp with tea tree oil if I feel any uncomfortable feelings like dryness or itching and after that all is well with the world. In the beginning, I was rocking a few asymmetrical styles and quickly got tired of that. I almost did it again today and realized that I couldn't see my parts and ditched that idea quickly. I'm excited for my first twisting!!!
So, a question for all of my locked lovelies out there? What are your favorite products to use? Do you have any special recipes?

As the years go by, we as women have to pay a bit more attention to our skin. Like Ledisi said, I'm going through changes, yall! The days of super flawless skin is beginning to take a bit of work and a certain level on consciousness. I have to be mindful of my water intake, the foods I eat and yes..an exercise regimen is heavy on the brain - not happening yet, but on the brain.
This ingredient can be found in many of our hair and skincare products. Its primary function is to remove dirt, oil and buildup regardless of the surface. I say this because the same ingredient that we spread on our body surfaces is also used (in higher concentrations of course) in engine degreasers and floor cleaners! Can you imagine using the same chemical to clean your face/hair to clean your engine?!
