So, I straightened my hair and realized that it was a hot mess! What I mean by this is that my ends were horrible! I come to you sadly admitting that I had not clipped my ends in roughly two years! Wow! Yes, that is horrible!
Realizing just how inconsiderate I had been to my hair, I had to call on my girl J. Weaver to trim my ends. I do not trim my own ends. She got me right with a a little 'bob-esque' cut with long layers. I lost 2 - 3 inches of length.
As a rule of thumb, I always go with a layer cut with my natural hair and my clients as well. It creates uniformity and a nice shape as it continues to grow out.
Within one week, the flat iron touched my hair a total of three times. I refused to apply any additional heat after this final time (right after my trim). I let that ride for awhile and then my curls began to revolt right at the nape of my neck....imagine that!
You'll notice a bit of loose curl action going on in the front. That is a result of my curls participating in a slow and subtle revolt. Yesterday, I washed it and let the curls do their thing completely!
My hair now has way more body and my curls are as lively as ever! I'm excited to show you my new lively curls!!! All of the length was actually split ends and brittle hair that had had enough. I am now on a mission to grow it back twice as long, but healthier!
Stay tuned...
