After our last check-in with Tatiana, I told you to stay tuned for her big chop. Well, we had a date nailed down until I received an e-mail where she shared how ready she was to get rid of those ends! Her next appointment was scheduled for September 15th and when she arrived, one of the first questions I asked was, "So, how are we feeling?". Her response, "Ready.".
I was elated! As she was deep conditioning, I began to prepare the shears for this wonderful occasion. Yes, I was excited (as always). Tatiana was focused and in a state of disbelief. She was actually going through with the big chop! Ohhhh-Emmmm-Geeeeeeeee!!!!

The Chop
It was wonderful! We sighed, had moments of silence, extreme giggling and simply embraced that moment. I purposely, let some of the longer pieces fall in front of her so that she could watch them roll off onto the floor. Incidents like that cause the moments of silence. When we got to the last piece we both looked in the mirror and that's when the screaming began.
The Aftermath
Well, you know I had to give her a moment. When a woman does the big chop she needs to see herself 'as is' - no style, no nothing! Raw beauty. She looked, she gasped, giggled and finally...she screamed and burst into laughter. It was so beautiful to watch her begin to embrace that raw and natural beauty that is Tatiana. I love what I do!
But wait...we live in the information age... You know she had to text and all that, right?! Right. She began to receive surprise congratulations. It was such a great evening! Check out the recap from the woman herself!
Style
Well, of course we had to top all of that off with a style. Coils it is! We flat twisted one side and coiled the remainder of her hair. She was all set for a night of dancing!
