On December 7th, Kinnks.com, All Tressed Up and Malaka Thrower collaborated to bring a beautifully positive Natural Hair Gathering to the Richmond area. The turnout was amazing and attendees were excited for more gatherings. We're still working to compile footage from the event to present you with a recap of the evening in a special way, so stay tuned for event details in a future post.
During the planning phase, I thought it would only be right if the hostesses were...ahem...All Tressed Up! So, prior to the event we had our own personal gathering at the salon. Malaka and Lady Kinnks walked out with new do's. Me personally, yeah I was still yet holding on to my rained on Twisty Locs, yall! LOL!
When she arrived, she was rocking a wild twist out - a signature look; kinda funky. After analyzing her face shape and checking out her tresses, here is what I came up with. This is a protective style consisting of flat two-strand twists that alternate between large and small. They were then gathered in the center of the head into one large twist (upward direction). The front portion consists of individual two-strand twists to form a subtle pompadour (I think this is more of a bump).

I think this style accentuates her regal presence and natural beauty. There are not distractions in the front (bringing out her face) and an intriguing design going on in the back.
Her response two days later: "I got so many compliments on my hair!"

Yet another LaVida Given By Nature product that has been put to the test. The name alone is very intriguing. Let's go in on this one...
This ingredient can be found in many of our hair and skincare products. Its primary function is to remove dirt, oil and buildup regardless of the surface. I say this because the same ingredient that we spread on our body surfaces is also used (in higher concentrations of course) in engine degreasers and floor cleaners! Can you imagine using the same chemical to clean your face/hair to clean your engine?!
