It's always an honor to have someone trust you with their tresses, but to have a bride ask you to work your magic on her wedding day?!?!? Whew! Now, THAT is an honor! All Tressed Up had the pleasure of beautifying a lovely natural bride. Yes!!!
This beautiful woman was accustomed to wearing her hair in it's natural state and sporting a twist out or coil out from time to time. She envisioned something different for her wedding day. She told me that she was in love with Jennifer Lopez's 'do' in Maid in Manhattan.
Well, I'm not big on completely copying, so we went back and forth via email with various styles. I wanted to go with something that would resemble J Lo's style, but had a hint of "...and guess what I'm natural" hidden in the midst.

Because natural hair behaves differently depending on who it belongs to, I needed to see how her hair reacted to the products I was accustomed to using. She came in for the trial (or dry run) and was pleased. After the dry run, I knew exactly what I needed!
We purchased the infamous Yaki #2, yall. My lovely bride had to achieve that volume some kind of way!!! So, Yaki it was! It worked beautifully! I actually stayed with the bride overnight to ensure those tresses were laid!!! We straightened her tresses the night before and pulled the hair up so that it would stay put.
That evening, I set the yaki tracks using red rollers on...you will never guess it...WIRE HANGERS, yall!!! Yes, I did. Ummmm...I didn't have to tell you that, but I'm actually proud of it. When you don't have all they wonderfulness of a salon with you and you're a traveling stylist, you have to just make it work with what you have!!! I don't even know if she knows that's what I did...SURPRISE beautiful!!! LOL!
We arrived to the special room and I began to wrap, twist, roll and pin! Do you see the little braid peeking through? Yeah, that's the signature "...guess what I'm natural" hint I was talking about earlier.
Yes, we love makeovers. The versatility is a force to be reckoned with! All Tressed Up...a natural obsession with all things hair and beauty. POW!

Scent
This ingredient can be found in many of our hair and skincare products. Its primary function is to remove dirt, oil and buildup regardless of the surface. I say this because the same ingredient that we spread on our body surfaces is also used (in higher concentrations of course) in engine degreasers and floor cleaners! Can you imagine using the same chemical to clean your face/hair to clean your engine?!
