The Obsession

Can you spend an hour or more in beauty supply stores?  Do you have multiple subscriptions to or can't help but pick up the latest hair magazine?  Is your 'under the sink' storage area so full that you have a special product area for your impulse purchases?  It's offiicial - you're obsessed.

The Attitude

All Tressed Up is more than the name of a website, it's an attitude.  Ask anyone - when you look good you do for the most part, feel good.  This website gives the everyday woman and/or man the opportunity to share just how wonderful you are!  Are you All Tressed Up today?

So, you've just done the big chop, eh?  What can you do with your hair?  Of course a TWA (Teenie Weenie Afro) is always an option, but what about those times when you want to add a bit more interest to your crown?  Perhaps Baby Coils is the answer for you!

Now, I laugh to myself because my older clients do not favor this style at all!  I find that the clients that are interested in this style are usually younger.  My own mother calls this style 'little turds on your head'.  Sorry, but its the truth. LOL!  I love her all the same.

I happen to love the style and believe that it is elegant and again adds interest and versatility to a woman who is newly embracing her coils.

To achieve this style, you will want to ensure that you do in fact have a coil.  Hair with a looser curl pattern will be challenging and while a 'coil' can be a somewhat forced, the durability of the style is limited with a looser curl.

The After Affects: Cucumber Facial Kit

I love the way things work!! So, I was noticing some changes in my skin and decided that it was about time for a facial.  Would I go to the spa?  Absolutely not because...well, it's just not feasible at the moment.

Moments after the thought, I saw a post in my timeline from our own C. Dawn Farrow regarding a new cucumber facial kit.  I clicked the link and was pleasantly surprised to see that the facial kit was available for the low cost of $10.00!!!

After confirming that there was in fact no shea butter (allergy) in the formula, I made my purchase.

Step 1: Clean your face

The instructions are to use the kit after cleaning your face.  I opted to cleanse my face with the Trader Joe's soap.

Phthalates

We are already aware that products should be labeled with the ingredients.  More and more you are probably noticing labels that read ________ FREE.  Phthalates (pronounced fal-ates) can easily fill one of these blanks.  That's right, we've got another chemical on our hands, folks!

What is it?
A chemical compound, phthalates, is also know as a plasticizer.  In the beauty world, this chemical compound can be found in nail polish, makeup (maintaining the color) and lotions (even spreading).  Phthalates are also responsible for making your fragrance last longer.
