Well, there is a story that goes along with this client. She came in for her consultation and shared a few interesting stories about her natural hair journey and was quite apprehensive about wearing her own hair. You see, she had already been convinced that 'natural' was the way to go. She just didn't know what to do with her hair. And so, the wig-loving began.
Oh, how I wish I could have snagged a before and after type of deal with her because the day she came in for her service, she was in fact wearing one of those beauties. She chooses really nice ones though - must give her credit!
We discussed style ideas and started out with a Pompadour-ish look, but that really was not her style. I ended up twisting the front into individual two-strand twists and pinning it in place. She never knew what she could do with her hair until then!
I witnessed this woman go from puzzled to actually stating, "You know, I think this is okay". Later, she sent me a heart-warming e-mail about the compliments she received and that she is now confident that she can wear her natural hair. Since then, she's been playing with twist-outs of her own and I love the fact that I was able to play a role in her journey.
The Style
The style is composed of flat chuncky two-strand twists going up in the back towards to crown. The front half of the head is twisted into individual two strand twists and are pinned and secured into the remaining twists.
Products Used
She actually came equipped with a few products she preferred to try as she had purchased them some time ago and rarely used them. We worked with the HydraThermal Naturals line and a few of my personal favorites:
