Salon Shot #3: Coil Love

More often than not, I receive calls from new naturals who are at a loss regarding what to do with their hair.  So, you've chopped it off, rocked your fro and now what?  The Teeny Weeny Afro (TWA) is nice, cute and oh so simple, but what about when you're tired of that?  What about those curls you see everywhere?

Coils, comb coils or baby locs may be your answer.  I like to describe them as miniature shirley temple curls that add a bit more interest to the amazing 'fro that you may be tired of wearing.  Our model came knowing exactly what she wanted.

This style is long-lasting and can be considered a multi-wear style.  After wearing it for some time, simply unravel each coil for a curly effect and now you're rocking a curly 'fro.  Two styles in one - BAM!

"Our main goal is to encourage the love of self, others and God through thought provoking, authentic and inspirational messages."

They create have their own collection of designs and will also create custom designs.

Canola oil

Not too long ago, I reviewed African Royale Hot Six Oil.  As always, I pay attention to the ingredient list and this time I saw canola oil.  I had been experiencing some skin issues and this oil seemed to calm it all down.  This experience caused me to ponder the ingredients. The top five ingredients were - olive oil, canola oil, wheat germ oil, sweet almond oil and safflower oil respectively.

Having researched and heard of the benefits of some of the others, I was curious about canola oil.  I cook with it from time to time, have read some conflicting opinions about it in the past and now I'm finding it as the second ingredient in a product that seemed to work well for me. So, let's break this down!
