Trend #5: Sorbet Colors

For that extra feminine touch, pastels (otherwise known as sorbet shades) are in this season.  Mint Green, Light Pink, Peach, Baby Blue, Canary Yellow, etc.

How to wear sorbets

• Color-blocked
• Paired with other light colors (unless it’s cream, black is too harsh to pair with your sorbets)
• Perfect fabrics for sorbet shades are chiffon or silk

Some time ago, Angel shared the Sally Hansen Salon Effects Nail Strips.  Well, I just had to try them!  While perusing the clearance section of my local Ulta store, I noticed that they had the strips on sale for half price!  I love a sale!

Needless to say, I snagged these babies and tucked them away for a quiet day.  The quiet day arose on Mother's Day.  Not only did I get to sleep in and receive breakfast in bed, I also had the opportunity to do some 'girly' stuff.  Yessss!!!!  Thanks to my guys!!!!  Love you!

Ease of use

I loved how easy it was to apply the nail strips.  The small box comes with a set of instructions telling you exactly what to do and how to do it.  I love that.  I am no nail pro, folks - not even a little bit!  We have Angel Williams for that!

Twist Date: May 14, 2012

The fourth month mark, already?  Wow, time is really moving!!  These quasi-locks of mine are doing their thing, too!  I'm so happy about my decision, yall!

This go around I wanted to play with setting my hair.  Initially, I was thinking rods.  After some thought, I was torn between rods and bantu knots.  If you've been following the blog for awhile, perhaps you remember that Twisty Locs style?  Well, bantu knots were used for that and I figured why not?!
