All about coconut oil

This past Thursday, I was honored to have been a co-host on the Nappturalite Radio Show! This week's topic was 'All About Coconut Oil'. Now, anyone that has been following the blog knows just how much I love coconut oil.

I talked about it so much that a number of my friends and family members went and tried it and guess what...they got hooked, too! I even have a client who laughs at the amount of oil she was using at one point. The oil is just great!

Sampling Poetisa's Palette

I must tell you that it always excites me to find goodies in my mailbox. This product line is called Poetisa's Palette and prides itself on natural products for the hair and skin.

Before we go into the actual products, I would like to share my impression of the product delivery and more:

Packaging

I really like the small jars. When it comes to natural products, it is a must that I be able to get every last drop out of the package. Jars are good. Natural products are usually not cheap! Nothing should go to waste. Great choice!

There was also a personal touch that I really enjoyed. There was a post-card with instructions on how to use each product as well as warnings. For example, you are advised not to use a specific product on the face. I really enjoyed this personal touch.

Phthalates

We are already aware that products should be labeled with the ingredients. More and more you are probably noticing labels that read ________ FREE. Phthalates (pronounced fal-ates) can easily fill one of these blanks. That's right, we've got another chemical on our hands, folks!

What is it?
A chemical compound, phthalates, is also know as a plasticizer. In the beauty world, this chemical compound can be found in nail polish, makeup (maintaining the color) and lotions (even spreading). Phthalates are also responsible for making your fragrance last longer.
