Enjoy Life Seed and Fruit Mix: Mountain Mambo

E-mail Print PDF

On my healthy living quest, I am often advised to consume nuts, seeds and a host of other things.  Well, the sad things is that I am allergic to nuts (all except a peanut).  Imagine that!  I was so excited to have found this brand of foods - Enjoy Life.

Enjoy Life prides itself on the following:

  • Free of the 8 most common allergens
  • Gluten free
  • Made in a dedicated facility
  • No artificial anything

I have yet to learn about gluten and why so many people are being advised to embrace gluten-free diets, however I digress.  My primary concern is the nut content.  Finally, I am able to enjoy a 'trail-mix like' snack without the nuts!  I also found that consuming this mix simmered down my violent sweet tooth quite a bit.

This is an excellent snack that provides some great health benefits (seeds and dried fruit) along with a great texture and taste.  The raisins, dried apples, dried cranberries and chocolate chips provide a wonderful sweetness.  I was impressed by how well the flavors merged.  What's even better is that my son absolutely loves this stuff!

I'm actually anxious to try a few of their other products!

Ingredients: Raw Sunflower Kernels, Roasted Hulled Pumpkin Seeds (Sunflower Oil (Sunflower Oil, Citric Acid), Salt), Raisins*, Dried Apples*, Chocolate Chips (Evaporated Cane Juice, Chocolate Liquor, Non-Dairy Cocoa Butter), Cranberries* *Sulfite-free

Allergen Info: NO TRANS FAT, NO ARTIFICIAL INGREDIENTS, VEGAN, KOSHER PAREVE, GLUTEN-FREE, CASEIN-FREE

Jane Carter: Moisture Nourishing Shampoo

Jane Carter Moisture Nourishing ShampooAs promised, I have finally tested out a Jane Carter product - Moisture Nourishing Shampoo .  Let me tell you, the experience was superb!  I had two clients - one who wanted a roller set and the other who wanted a silk wrap.  I used this product along with the conditioner on both clients. (The conditioner review will be next.)

After the consultation with each client, we went to the shampoo bowl to begin the process.  Immediately we were teased with this lovely fragrance.  It was the shampoo.  It possesses a very fresh scent.  I was very impressed - very fresh without being overpowering.

The consistency of the shampoo was perfect - not runny or too thick.  I actually liked working with it.  As with many effective shampoos, the first lather does not result in immediate bubble action.  This lets you know that the shampoo was designed to cleanse and was not simply filled with detergents to trick you into believing that it did the job.

Ingredient Profile: Amla

It is not uncommon that after reading an ingredient list that we stumble upon an ingredient that makes you go "Hmmm".  Well, the ingredient that has triggered my curiosity is Amla (or Indian Gooseberry).

In my quest to nurture my natural beauty from the inside, I thought you may benefit from the findings.  As we approach the new year, I thought it may also be a great idea to actually engage in an Amla experience.

Native to India, this vitamin C rich fruit is filled with antioxidants and is highly regarded in Ayurveda. Let's begin exploring the benefits of Amla from the inside out.

Health Benefits

  • Anti-microbial
  • Blood purifier
  • Decrease bad cholesterol
  • Increase good cholesterol
  • Antioxidant
  • Immunity Booster

Given that the Indian Gooseberry is native to India, how can we benefit from this highly nutritious and healing fruit?  In Ayurveda, mixing the juice of the Amla fruit with honey is considered a health tonic.  Considering its naturally bitter taste, the honey sweetens the experience.

Tip: Drink one glass of Amla juice daily
