O-M-G! Never in my life have I attended an expo so beautiful and jaw-dropping!  I'm so overwhelmed (in a good way) that I just don't know how to begin.  I'm feeling a bit sequential, so I'll start from the beginning.

Getting there

I love how God works.  I am a procrastinator and am also on a tight budget.  When it comes to travel, oftentimes those two elements do not mix.  I had been scoping flights, considering the train and then my girl E-Money (lol!) told me about her driving plans.  Shout out to my new grown-woman honeys.  We painted the town, didn't we ladies?!  Two out of four of us took the wheel as we made our trek from Richmond, VA to Atlanta, GA.  We talked about everything from our kids, relationships, hair and a host of other girly things.  Thanks ladies!!!

Okay, okay...you're reading this because you want to know about the show...I know...I know.

The Party

The World Natural Hair Party Affair was one of many new additions to the event this year.  I was excited to see Chrisette Michele live again!!  She is amazing.  So, did I party like a rockstar? No.  Did I like the idea of a party to celebrate natural hair? Yes.

I would like to see the party rolled into the actual event.  Celebrities could perform in secret pop-up locations throughout the show or surprise guests could perform on the already existent stage at the event.

One thing that I loved about the party was the fact that I met a few of my Social Circle sisters for the first time that evening!!!  We had been tweeting one another for a while, but never met.  The party was our time to meet. Yayyyyyy!!!!

The Show

After the party its the Natural Hair Show!  Now, this is where the real excitement began!  As a newcomer to the event, I was amazed at all of the natural beauty, products, and more available at this one show!

Entertainment

Dance troupes, fashion and hair shows, photo booths and even spoken word were available.

Food

There was a snack area where food could be purchased.  This was your typical french fries + [fill-in-the-blank] options.  There was however a raw/vegan restaurant there providing healthier options.  I could smell it as soon as they started preparing the food.  Unfortunately, I was unable to partake.  I will say that I got a whiff from my roommate for the weekend.  I had the pleasure of watching her tear that wrap up while I waited for my dinner call. LOL!  Oh, how I wished I had some of that.

Vendors

Long story short, if your heard about a product on YouTube or read about it on a blog, chances are there was a vendor represented at the show.  I know for a fact that I did not visit every vendor.  Between my Social Circle responsibilities, gawking at amazing natural hairstyles and chatting with folks I just could not.

Self-care

I was so impressed by the number of hair salons represented!  Folks were actually getting their hair done at the show.  I loved it!  What I also loved were the opportunities to learn more about holistic health.  There were workshops on nutrition, yoga and even self-defense.

Workshops

There were a host of free and fee workshops where attendees could learn more about business ownership, natural hair styling techniques and more!  I had the opportunity to attend one fee workshop from Dr. Ronnie of Ronnie's Artistic Hands.  There I learned a different loc extension technique and it was great!

The Hair

What would a natural hair show be without amazing hair!  Here are a few snapshots of some beautifully natural sisters that I peeped at the show!

Overall, the World Natural Hair Show is a natural hair lover's dream come true....Check out this great video from fellow Social Circle blogger, Kinky Peaches.

Up Next...The Social Circle Experience!

Featured Product

La Fresh Nail Polish Remover Pads

La Fresh Nail Polish Remover Pads (box of 6, single pouches), tuscan orange scented nail removal pads that are formulated with aloe vera and horsetail extracts, free of acetone and parabens.

First off let me say I love these little pads! While the odor may be a bit strong, yet tolerable, they do a great job at removing all of the polish off the nail plate while leaving a tiny bit of oil to nourish the nail.  So you really don’t have that dry, sticky feel you may get after using commercial brand removers or even acetone at times.

Canola oil

Not too long ago, I reviewed African Royale Hot Six Oil.  As always, I pay attention to the ingredient list and this time I saw canola oil.  I had been experiencing some skin issues and this oil seemed to calm it all down.  This experience caused me to ponder the ingredients. The top five ingredients were - olive oil, canola oil, wheat germ oil, sweet almond oil and safflower oil respectively.

Having researched and heard of the benefits of some of the others, I was curious about canola oil.  I cook with it from time to time, have read some conflicting opinions about it in the past and now I'm finding it as the second ingredient in a product that seemed to work well for me. So, let's break this down!
