Well, it is about time that we hosted another event.  The Big Chop Party was so much fun and the ladies really did enjoy the health and beauty benefits of Tea is for Tresses (not to mention those cucumber sandwiches).  This next intimate little shindig is called Chocolate, Curls and Conversation. Ooooooooo!!!

In my reading and research, I have learned quite a bit about chocolate and would love for the readers and supporters of All Tressed Up to be able to indulge while learning of course.

Chocolate, Curls and Conversation will consist of:

Chocolate

Learn about the health and beauty benefits of chocolate by partaking in luscious chocolate treats such as:

  • Chocolate fondue fountain (with pastries and fruit)
  • Chocolate beverages
  • Gourmet chocolates

Attendees will also make their very own chocolate sugar body scrub to take home for later use.  All materials and additional recipes will be provided.

Curls

Because we'll have so much going on during this three-hour event, attendees will have the option of scheduling a chocolate inspired deep conditioning treatment at the All Tressed Up Salon.

Conversation

While we learn about the benefits of chocolate and discuss various beauty topics, guests will also partake in the following beauty treatments:

This is the perfect pre-date activity.  You'll walk away with your face glowing, serotonin levels up by a few notches and some new found knowledge on maintaining your beauty the natural way!

Mega Care Tea Tree Oil

Tea Tree OilTea Tree Oil is one of my favorite oils!  I had a client with a severe case of seborrheic dermitits.  If you are unaware, seborrheic dermitits is a condition that results in flaky, yet oily scales on the scalp.  This particular client was infected around the hair line with heavy build up in the crown area. When infants are infected with this condition, it is called cradle cap.

Panthenol

During my client consultations, I ask prospective clients to bring in the products they are currently using. We review the products and I make recommendations based on the condition of their hair.  I consider myself to be knowledgeable about some ingredients, but have no problem admitting that I am unclear about others.  One of the ingredients that I commonly see on ingredients lists is panthenol.

Through my reading, I have heard many consider it to be a 'hair plumper', moisturizer...you name it!  After seeing it on a number of products that receive natural hair love, I became a bit curious about the ingredient.  I did my research and came up with my very own understanding of what this ingredient does for our hair and skin.

What is it?

Panthenol is a substance that is commonly used in skin and hair care products.  You may also hear it coined as 'pro-vitamin B'.

Where does it come from?

The substance can be derived from plant, animal or synthetically created.  Based on my findings, there is no way to tell where the instance in your particular product derives.  Many natural or vegan products may include labeling to notify you that the product contains no animal products or may even go as far to place '(plant derived)' behind the ingredient.
